Well, I touched down in DaNang at 1100 yesterday and zipped through the passport/visa process with amazing ease.

Thong (Damn Guide) and his niece, Chi, were there to meet me. It was a great reunion! After settling into the hotel, Thong took me via motorbike to see Mr. Mann, who served as a scout in the 196th Light Infantry. I gave my fellow veteran a 196th Infantry hat, created by A 3/21 2nd platoon comrade Gary Bonar. It was an emotional experience. Mr. Mann's family graciously served us yogurt and soup.

Thong also received a 196th Infantry hat and shirt...again, through the generosity of Gary Bonar. I'll get more photos, but have been rushing around like crazy.
In an hour or so, Thong, Chi, and I will be heading to the LZ Colt area , where I fist choppered out to my infantry company in '68. I've hired a car/driver for the long drive. We will visit Duong, Thua, and pay respects at Son's & her mother's graves.
I didn't plan on hitting the ground running after being in the air with little sleep for several days, but that's what's happening!
